NYC at Christmastime.

This past weekend, we took our family to NYC for a nice weekend away.  It is our 4th year traveling to the city during December, and a favorite trip of mine.  I consider it my Christmas, this journey to the magical city...
This is our son, Griffin.  It was his very first trip to NYC.  The other two kiddos had been there before.  He was in heaven.

Our friends, the Radcliffe's, were in town for the weekend, too.  So glad we could meet up with our kids!

Thanks for letting me share these with you.

Enjoy your day!

It's that time of year!!  I'm not doing a December Kit this month, but rather I'm cleaning house.  As most of my customers know, I'm VERY GOOD at packing clearance kits.  :)   Each kit will be valued at at LEAST $50, and contain items sold from this year.  So get one while you can!!  In the event that you order multiple kits, I will refund your paypal account after postage is calculated.  All kits will ship on Monday, December 17th.

Holiday Playlist Favorite

Special thanks to my friend Amy who told me about Christina Perri's "Something About December" song.  It has been on repeat ever since she told me about it.  Tugs at the heartstrings during the holiday.  Enjoy!

Baking with Friends

It was such a treat for my daughter and me to be invited over to bake with friends. They have old school family recipes that I've always wanted, complete with unique techniques, and learning from my friend's mom was a total treat for me...
This is Mrs. Berner.  And I love her.

And Mrs. Berner knows how to make the perfect Pecan Tassie.  She uses her own recipe for dough and filling, and uses a flower-shaped cookie cutter for the perfect shell.
I loved watching her in action.
These are our friends, Mari and Collin.  The whole family gets involved in the baking during the holidays.  The boys later broke for a bball game, while the younger girls took a walk to the local market.  Of course they came back to test the finished product when all was said and done...
We bonded over a mutal love of the Pioneer Woman.  Gotta love another foodie!!

Thank you, Sullinger Family.  It was a wonderful day spent with you.

Photo Ornaments.

When you love photos, you find ways to interject them into your life.  At Christmastime, in particular, I find this to be true.  Today, I wanted to share a few of my favorite photo ornament ideas, so you can add them to your holiday decor...
(above found at Artful Affirmations here.)
This vintage photo tree is similar to the two i have in my home.  I LOVE having a special place to remember loved ones that have passed away, but actively in our hearts and memory.
(Above photo found at Our Happy Little Nest Here.)
I am doing several of these ornaments this year.  Inside, I've added a bunch of flake snow to add to the season a bit.  I love how you simply roll a photo and ribbon, and you're done.  Can't get any easier than that!

Enjoy your day!

New Recipe Favorites for the Holidays

This recipe for Chocolate Crack from Recipe Snobs is to die for.  No, really.  Chocolate, peanut butter, caramel and chips.  I've gone mad.  Really.  You need to make this for your people this holiday season...
Vanilla Bean Caramel Sauce
This recipe is also easy and a must-make for your loved ones this season.  It is smooth and heavenly.  Perfect on top of ice cream, pies, cake--you name it.  Great to make in multiples as neighbor gifts, too!

And THESE.  This Frito no bake snack is a must try, too.  We elected to add more chocolate to our recipe (not surprised?) AND we also added a touch of butterscotch, because that's how we roll here.  Our whole family gave this one a thumbs up.  You can find the recipe here at Skip to My Lou.

Enjoy your day!
