Looks like love...

I've been playing with a bunch of Valentine's around here lately... This one was made with the Tarjay dollar spot mailbox and more Making Memories Love Story paper and embellies...
And this one is from last year, but I still love it. That Heidi Grace paper still speaks to me!
This can was also made using older papers. Lots of ribbon on the handle for this one. And at the knot in the front, I used a heart pin I got at Hallmark.
I have loads of punches (back from 1999 when I taught punch art 3 times a month! ha!), and when I saw this idea in a magazine, I had to lift it and make the idea mine. I used stickles on the vellum to enhance the cupid's wings. I made a ton at once, so it went quickly...

And these containers (also found this year at the Target dollar spot) are wonderful for quickie little treats! I embellished the front with leftover MM Love Story chipboard pieces.
Thanks so much for all the sweet comments from yesterday! I am really, really grateful to have such kind and inspirational people supporting me, and I so appreciate all your energy and enthusiasm.

...and the winner of the RAK from yesterday is...

Amy Coose!!! Congrats, Amy! Please email me at Turay413@gmail.com and I'll mail your package to you!

And I'm going to send out a package to Yaritza Rivera-Eby as a runner up, so please email me your address as well!

Thanks to everyone who participated!
Be sure to stay tuned, we'll be doing more fun things like this in the next 2 weeks to celebrate our first anniversary!

Enjoy your Wednesday!

  3. I looked at these mailboxes in Target this past weekend and thought about picking them up to alter. I was nervous about going around the flag though. In other mailboxes I have altered - you were able to remove the flag and then put it back...Was it hard to go around?

  4. Hey Kim--

It wasn't hard to go around at all! I used a 3/4" hole punch and cut a minor slit, and then wrapped the area around the flag. I do the same for altered paint cans as well, only I use a larger hole punch. Hope you try it out! =)
