we all love sketches right?
well i have another one here for you.
but first, i would love for all you wonderful
WIP readers out there in blog land to leave us
a comment and tell us WHY do you love
sketches. what do they do for you? how do
they help you? and are there any particular KIND
of sketches you would like to see here on the WIP blog.
certain sizes, certain amounts of photos, etc.
now here is a new sketch for you and what i did with it
using the july main kit.
I love sketches! They give me an idea to go with. Especially when I am stumped as to how to layout my page. Sometimes I just look at it and go a totally different direction, others I follow it to the T.
ReplyDeleteit amazes me how a sketch prompts my thoughts...i guess being a visually driven person it just gives my brain a snapshot and then i can just go with it.
ReplyDeletewould love to see multi photo sketches.
i love how a sketch can be interpreted so many ways, but yet look great if you follow the basic design! they're so fun and flexible!
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch! I personally don't use sketches all the time, but I tend to pull one out when I don't want to do a lot of "thinking" about design, KWIM? I also enjoy creating sketches for my own use, using print ads for inspiration. TFS this one! :-)
ReplyDeleteI love sketches. They really get my creative juices flowing. I really would like to see more multiple photo sketches.
ReplyDeletejanelle this layout is adorable & i love this sketch - as usual. thx for the inspo girl :) mar -
ReplyDeleteI love sketches Janelle because sometimes I just want to make something pretty that doesn't require hours of planning. I take my sketch, my kit, adhesive and just create. It's awesome. I like Jamie's request of sketches with multi photos.
ReplyDeleteLove your sketches and the WIP blog. I can't think of anything I'd like to see different. Keep up the GREAT work ladies.
ReplyDeleteI like sketches because they give me a jumping off point, somewhere to start. Sometimes there's nothing more intimidating than a blank page. I like using sketches to start, but sometimes my LO looks nothing like the sketch by the end and i'm okay with that! :)
ReplyDeleteLike others... I go for the sketch as a starting block. I like to use it and then take it to add my spin on things. Usually once I use that sketch it gets my creative juices flowing to create an original by me :) I would love to see more photos...but on the 8.5x11 size page. Keep up the awesome work!!!
ReplyDeleteI use sketches when I'm stumped. I tend to take hours over pages, and I don't always end up loving the results - sometimes I add one thing and I feel that I ruined the page! When I get stumped, I turn to sketches for inspiration. Although I have to use my creative side to add to the sketch (picking colors, etc...) I feel like the hard work is done for me. I really enjoy sketches that uses a lot of pictures since I tend to take 5 times the amt needed trying to get that "perfect" shot. Often, it's fun to use the not so perfect pics showcasing the one that I actually like!! Thanks for sharing your sketches!!
ReplyDeletei love these sketches. i've never been much of a sketch person, but i love janelle's. they are so easy to use and they fit my style.
ReplyDeletehere's my LO from the sketch

I Love sketches for those moments when I need inspiration. I love looking through sketches to see different ideas and how I can arrange pics differntly on a page. Sketches really help me to get out of a rut!
ReplyDeleteAmanda Engweiler
just love these sketches, such inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love sketches. They get me motivated & out of my ruts. I find that sometimes I get into doing one style of layout for awhile. Using a sketch always gets e looking at things a bit differently.
ReplyDeleteI love to see sketches fro 4x6 photos. I have gotten out of the habit of scrapping the "usual" sizes.
I am a sketch whore. There. I said it.
ReplyDeleteAlways have been, always will be.
I'd like sketches for oversized photographs--since that is my other addiction.
Love you, Janelle!!
Janelle, I love your sketches! I turn to sketches for inspiration when I'm stuck on a layout and it really helps. Here's a page I did with the last sketch you posted:

I adore sketches! All kinds, . . . I guess I'm a sketch whore, too, Trish! LOL (You crack me up!) The thing I love about them, is that it gets you past the initial "block" of a page and then you get to just put your own spin on it with all the fun stuff . . . the colors, the shapes, the textures, the PRODUCTS!!! :D :D :D What is so fascinating about them, is how different people interpret them in their own ways depending on that persons creativity, topic, etc. I LOVE to see several variations of the same sketch!
ReplyDeletelove it Janelle. Sketches have all the design work done for me which i love. and i have no suggestions for other sketches. I use a lot of yours and they are to my liking. hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love your sketches and would love to see some 6 x 12 ones!
