More of the Mini

Those of you who know me, even a little, know I got this 'thang' for mini's...and I got it bad. Yep, you guessed...it's Jamie...here with yet another mini album. (Sure hope you aren't bored yet...)
It seems the love affair started years ago when Ali Edwards started talking them up so much. I was hooked immediately. Whether it's a vacation mini (which is my all time fav), or an inspiration book, or mixed media book...it doesn't matter, I just love them all.

Since summer (ew!!! do I have to say it?) is winding down...there are lots of summer memories to put in order. And you know what that means? Yet another mini....

The one here today is one of my all time favorites ever. It started as a BoBunny 6x6 chipboard mini with a binder in the middle. Jumping off from the chipboard, I cut many of the pages down to different sizes to add interest and allow other pages to peek over.

To start, on the cover is probably the best part for me. I found a retro postcard at a gift store high up in Rocky Mountain National Park. I snatched that one up quick cause I knew just what it was going to be used for...and I love how it turned out.

A 4x6 landscape photo fit perfectly right inside the cover. You can tell I still had some pieces left over from an AliE kit of long ago. The simple words worked great with what I was working towards.
As soon as the book is opened you can see the assorted sizes of photos and chipboard pages. These different sizes were great for adding tabs and stickers to allow them to show through to the front.

This book dates back a few years, and it was the first time I think I actually (gasp!) wrote on a photo. Sometimes you just gotta break through the fear.

There wasn't alot of need for extra embellishing. This book relies on words, and photos quite heavily. Lots of stories to be told on this wonderful trip. It was important to make sure there was room for those.

Because the album is 6x6, it was real easy to simply order 4x6 photos knowing they would fit. That size would really enhance the focus of the photo, because it would nearly take up the whole page. Loved how this worked out.

It helps, as you very well know, to stick with a few different patterned papers, and a few solids. This kept the focus on the story and the photographs. The choice helped support the outdoor theme that was this album. Used a 6x6 pad from Basic Grey. It was a good choice, I think.

So glad other people were on this trip, my hubby and I are so bad about getting our photo taken together.

Little page with lots of little pics...a way to get alot of memories in there, and still enjoy the larger photos. The book just really came together so well.

We are headed to another great part of the state this weekend. I'm thinking this trip too will demand a mini-album...why don't you document this last official weekend of summer in a mini too...and have fun!
