The lush green trees and spanish moss hanging from them speak to me. And the SUNSHINE just warmed me to the core. Exactly what I needed after being in Ohio all winter long.
The Custom House across the street is where the slaves would arrive off the boats. The artifacts and history there are amazing. To this day, sweet grass baskets are made and sold by African American decendents. Really beautiful...
So thankful my hubs drove. We celebrated our 16th anniversary last week, too. Nice to spend it together and away with the kids.
We spent some time at the Middleton Plantation. I have to say, it was by far my favorite of all the ones we visited in past years (Boone Hall and Magnolia). If you ever are in the area, be sure to visit. Your kids will love it, too...
We also hit the beach. Coligny Beach in Hilton Head Island...
We got shrimp at Shim Creek in Charleston...
And spent more time at the beach...
The beach at Isle of Palms is special to us. It is also our children's favorite spot. They never want to leave...
It was great to go away, spend time together, SLEEP IN, and breathe. I didn't realize how much I needed the break--and so did the hubs.
I also can't wait to document the trip using the May Project Kit. I've already started, in fact...
The other fun part? ALL OF THESE PHOTOS were taken using my iPhone. EVERY ONE. I didn't stress out or bother with my bigger DSLR camera this year. And it was WONDERFUL.

Can not believe we live less than a mile away from each other and then travel to the same place for spring break. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IOP and the day trip to Charleston. Your pictures make me wish we were still there.
