First Communion--"I Hope" Carousel revisited.

Years ago, when my daughter made her own First Communion, I made her an "I Hope" carousel. She is 13 now, and it still sits on her desk because she loves it. She said it serves as inspiration to her. I love that...
This year, a close family friend made her own First Communion.  I decided to make her an "I Hope" carousel, in honor of the momentous event.
I had most of the statements saved in a Word document, so I simply printed them out on cardstock.
I did a photo shoot with her a few weeks before the actual event, so I could have pictures to add.
Our family created our own personal statements and added them to the carousel.  I encouraged the kids to write something from the heart for our friend, Maddyn, and they went to work.
I added a few embellishments.  Many included felt flowers of some sort...

I gave it to her before her party, so that her own family members could include their wishes for her during her party.

And I included a few photos of the church by itself.  I think sometimes we forget to step back and include those types of things.  Who knows what it will look like as time goes by, right?
Thanks for letting me share.  Feel free to lift the idea!  It would be perfect for a graduation or a confirmation as well!!

Enjoy your day!

  1. I bought a few of these spinners with every intention of doing a mini album, but have never done it. This is such a lovely idea...such a treasure!

I had a hard time finding the photo carousel (the ones I found said they are discontinued) so I am using this instead (see link below). Wanted to pass this alone in case others are interested. There is 30% off code on their website as of today. You will also want to buy the photo sleeves. I also pasted that link.

But if I try to create pages as beautiful as yours from scratch it will become the kind of project I never finish. If you might consider sharing the pages you made I'd be very grateful. My daughter is making her First Communion next weekend, and I'd like to create the 'boards/papers' that family and friends could use to write up their Hopes for her and then assemble for her. 70. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PROJECT WAS CREATED IN 2008. IT HAS BEEN RE-BLOGGED AND RE-POSTED SO MUCH THAT NO ONE NOTICES THE DATES. THE PRODUCT AND DOCUMENTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE. AT THE TIME, IT WAS A KIT, AND THOSE THINGS WERE PURCHASED. SO OUT OF RESPECT TO THE PEOPLE WHO PURCHASED THEM 8 YEARS AGO, I AM UNABLE TO SHARE. THANK YOU!!
