Tybee Island & Savannah, Georgia

Last year, we had our first taste of Tybee Island. This year, we knew we had to go back...
Right off the coast of Savannah, it really is a great place to vacation. Wonderful atmosphere, friendly folks, clean beach and terrific southern food...

We had no trouble relaxing. Especially since the beaches weren't over-crowded (our spring break week was later than everyone else's, which left lots of room on the beach. Perfect!)

Our kids loved the ocean. Sunny and in the lower 80's every day.

We climbed to the top of the lighthouse...

And spent some time back in Savannah, too...

River Street is such a fun place. Shops and restaurants, and perfect sunsets after a day on the beach...

Trolley cars that run through cobblestone streets. Savannah Candy Company. Spankey's. The Lady and Son's (Paula Deen's first restaurant). Lots to see and do for everyone...

And the TREES. I love me a beautiful tree covered in that hanging spanish moss...

We had a great time. Everything was green. Back here in Ohio, our spring has been so cold and rainy, the leaves have not opened yet. I didn't have to take any allergy meds for the whole week we were there! ((sigh.))

Ice cream after dark, too. Is there anything this place doesn't have?

Thanks for letting me share a bunch of our vacation pics today. Half were taken with my iPhone (Camera + app) and the other half were taken with my Canon DSLR. Can you tell the difference?

I did manage to do a travel journal, and will most likely share the other fun pics from our trip when I finish that project up.

Enjoy your day!

  10. Fab photos! I actually live about an hour away from Tybee. If you come back you should do St. Simon's Island too. We like that beach better.

  13. Those photos are fantastic! Beautifully capturing the beauty of the location! Tybee Island restaurants have regularly delivered wonderful food and service over my prior Savannah vacations! What https://visittybee.com/beaches mentioned about them was spot on! They were just amazing! Do you have a list of good pubs to visit at night out there?
