Last minute Easter goodness...

I made these for my son's class. Mind you, he goes to a Lutheran school...It's called the Jelly Bean Prayer.

Red is for the blood He gave,
Green is for the grass He made,
Yellow is for the sun so bright,
Orange is for the edge of night.
Blue is for the sins we made,
White is for the grace He gave.
Purple is for His hour of sorrow,
Pink is for our new tomorrow!

A bag full of jelly beans, so colorful and sweet,
is a prayer, is a promise...is a special treat!

My son and daughter both came home with fun Easter crafty projects and I wanted to share this one in case you needed to come up with something fun for your kids in the next few days. It's made with an empty milk carton (the hole cut out is its mouth) and you cover it in cotton balls. Add ears, eyes, a pink nose and some whiskers, and you have an adorable candy display...

Before I brush off to color some Easter eggs, I wanted to make note of this most holy day. I wish each and every one of you a wonderful Easter. Thank you for being part of my life!

Trish: Loved the jelly bean treat idea. That is a great way to really remind the kids & THE ADULTS what Easter is really all about. I am constantly amazed at the wonderful crafts that teachers come up with. Teachers are the best. I hope you have a fantastic weekend.

Amen and amen! I am so excited about this treat. I was looking for a new idea because I have Jr. Church this week and usually have 20 - 25 children. I imagine there will be more being that it is Easter Sunday. I check here every day and enjoy all of it. This was just the thing to make my day! Off to buy some jelly beans. =] TFS

Me again (Melissa; from above)!! I just wanted to pop in and say that I did a simple version of The Jellybean Prayer - I printed it onto white cardstock and stapled it to a snack baggie with one of each color jellybean in it. I made several of these and when we went to MIL's for the family dinner today I snuck in & put one at each place setting before dinner. THE FAMILY WAS THRILLED!! One aunt even said how bummed she'd been that Easter has become so "commercialized" (like Christmas) and that she was wishing that more people would take the time to recognize the REAL MEANING of the holiday. (Oh, and did you know that you can't find blue jellybeans without buying the Nickelodeon jellybeans? At least *I* couldn't!)... So your joy rippled "throughout the land"... or at least down here to us in lil' ol' Florida. HAPPY EASTER (again)... and thank you!!
