birthday hat (and boy!)

hi ya'll! it's youngest son, milo, turned 1 this past week...for his birthday party, i decided to make him a birthday hat, with remnants of the kit that i had left!
it turned out so's a picture of the hat...

and of course, a couple pictures of the birthday boy in the hat!

he loved his cake :)
anyways...this hat was super easy to make...
here's a few easy directions so you can make your own!
take a 12 x 12 piece of paper and roll it into a can make it as skinny or round as you'd like.
adhere the cone together (i just used scotch tape, and made that the back of the hat--since nobody would see it)
then cut around the bottom of the hat and make it straight all the way around. this is where you can determine the height of the hat.
for the top, i jut cut strips of paper and glued them to the inside at the tip. after the glue dried, i took a pencil and rolled the paper around it, so that it curled.
then just embellish as desired!
i found some stretchy string to use to hold it around his could use ribbon as well.
have fun!

hi EMILY!!!! love that hat! milo is adorable.
also, curious as to what editing you did on the last photo. the muted tones are very cool with a bit of color on the hat.
thanks for the pics and instructions.
have a great day!
