It just isn't Christmas without...

a fun Holiday Meme!

Top 3 Holiday Movies (in no particular order):

Favorite Holiday Cookie: Snowballs!

2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups finely chopped pecans
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup Butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon almond extract
unwrapped hershey's kisses
Powdered sugar

Heat oven to 325°F. Combine all ingredients except powdered sugar in large mixer bowl. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl occasionally, until well mixed (2 to 3 minutes). Shape dough around a hershey kiss to form a ball about 1 inch in diameter. Place 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 18 to 25 minutes or until very lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes; roll in powdered sugar while still warm and again when cool. Makes 3 dozen cookies

Favorite holiday tradition:
It used to be our neighborhood's luminaries, but we haven't lived in that neighborhood for years. I just love the neighborhood streets all lit with lights. I really miss them. Maybe I should lobby my neighorhood association for the same tradition this year.

My favorite holiday project and recipe:
Well, you guys already know about my Sweet Potato Cake recipe,
so here's a pic of my favorite holiday project...winter jars.
I just love these and they are so, so easy to make. I also love my scrappy trees...
Favorite childhood holiday memory:
I remember when I was little, we used to leave cookies for Santa along with carrots and
popcorn for the reindeer. My poor dad had to eat it all that night!

Some decorations I will have around the house
(once we decorate after my mother's b-day that is)
Our tree:
Our Mantle

Some things here and there:
And my favorite decoration of all...my little Santa

Merry Christmahanakwanzikah Everyone!

In the second to last pic it looks like a fun "countdown to Christmas" type project that you've made....can clues on where to get the makings for one of these? I've always wanted to do this & never found one I liked...UNTIL NOW :) Thanks for the inspiration!

Libby--I think Colleen used the Advent Tree from Starbucks last year. Not sure if they have them this year or not...

White Christmas is also my favorite Christmas movie. Holiday Inn is my second favorite! Almost all the same actors, too. Love to pull them out and listen/watch while decorating!
Gonna make snowballs today after the kids get home from school! Thanks for the recipe!
