Photo box

A few years ago a friend of mine had a country store that she was closing since her husband was transferred out of state. While helping her clean out the stock room we would come across all kinds of unfinished crafts and she would tell me to take them home and create something with them.
Hi everyone, Tina here with some more thoughts on homemade gifts. One of the first ones I put together was for Chelsea's graduation party. Then I put a couple together for friends and for gifts and recently I started working on my Christmas list.

I apply the mod podge to the wood, added the picture and rolled with a brayer to smooth out any air bubbles.
Once I've gotten all the pictures on I apply another coat of mod podge over the top. They can easily be completed in an evening.

Cute idea! Did you use color copies?

My question too.........did you use actual photos or photocopies of them? Just wondering about mod podge and the plasticy-ness of the photos. Thanks!

yep I used the actual photos and I would def recommend this for a beginner, very easy to do!

I used matte mod podge, but I'm sure that's just a matter of preference.

I don't know about color XEROX style copies but color prints from the computer will bleed when using Mod-Podge so they're out for this type of project. I wonder if you printed them on the fabric sheets if that might work?? Worth a try!

I loved those beautiful wooden boxes - for several years I painted original acrylic paintings on them and sold them at craft fairs, I did bowls and plates too.

I'm getting back to my roots a bit and starting to paint again after a hiatus of over a year and I'm so getting into getting my hands dirty again after doing so much digital art for my graphic design business and my online websites and stores.

BTW,thanks for stopping by The PopArtDiva Blog post on Halloween!
