Cookie Cutter Wreath

I decorate our kitchen with a gingerbread theme every year during this season. When I saw this idea, I knew I had to attempt to create this wreath for the door that goes from the kitchen to our laundry room...
I really wanted a red gingham ribbon, but I used what I had and will make it work...
Simple cookie cutters, hot glued together and tied with ribbon at the top. Can't get much easier than this!

To prepare, I bought a canister of cookie cutters from Walmart ($6.99 for 18, in a cute clear paint container that will also be altered here on the ole blog soon...ha!). You will need about 30 cookie cutters in total. If you shop around, I'm sure you could find them even cheaper...
Using a bowl as the "center" and guide, I played with the cookie cutters until I was happy with their shape. For me--a little OCD--I wanted to go about 2 cookie cutters deep, with most of them facing upright.

I then began gluing a couple at a time, until I was finished. When it was all pieced together in one unit, I turned the whole thing over and added more glue in some areas, just to give it a bit of strength (in case it got knocked about.)
Simple, and FUN. That is what I'm all about this season!!
Enjoy your Wednesday!!

Another great idea. Now I'll be on the prowl for cheap cookie cutters! I'd love to find some that are rusted and banged up a bit for a more rustic look too.

Tara, just soak them in water a while and they should rust. I did that and it worked for another project! HTH!

So cute... I'm wondering if I can find a bunch of Chanukah cookie cutters (so hard to find cheap) and turn this into a CHanukah wreath! Lovely project, thanks for sharing!
