Aunt Blanche's Cookies

An oldie, but a goodie, from back in the day...


Aunt Blanche's Chocolate Oatmeal No-Bake Cookies
2 C. Sugar
2 C. Oatmeal
1 stick butter
2/3 cup evaporated milk
6 oz. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar, butter and milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat but continue to boil for 5 minutes. Add chocolate chips, vanilla and oatmeal. Drop by spoonfuls onto a waxed paper lined cookie sheet. Chill to set cookies. Keep cool and in an air-tight container. Makes 3 dozen.

I started drooling the minute I saw the photo!! It's been years since we made no bakes -- maybe tonight they'll make a reappearance!!:) Talk about memories of my childhood.....wow!

I remember eating these when they were a little too hot to handle. We also made a peanut butter version that were so tasty. What a flashback to childhood! I may have to make some soon to let my own kids experience them too.

I love THESE WE ALWAYS MADE THESE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP!
