A few of my favorites

Tina here to share some of my holiday favorites

Top 3 Holiday Movies:
Elf is one of my favorite movies! We watch that movie over and over during the
holidays, and still laugh at every part even though we know what's coming.

also in our favorites list are:
  • Dr. Seuss' how the grinch stole Christmas
  • A christmas story

My favorite holiday cookie
is one that I make every year for my sister's cookie exchange.

Russian Tea Balls

1 C butter
2 tsp vanilla
1 C chopped nuts
1/3 C confectioner's sugar
2 C flour

Mix well and roll into 1" balls. Place on
ungreased cookie sheet, bake at 325 for 20 minutes
Roll in confectioner's sugar directly out of oven.

Favorite Holiday Music
There is certain music that has been a part of our Christmas
for many years. Songs that I don't think my kids would recognize the
holidays without hearing. One of our favorites is Harry Connick Jr,
I don't think there is a song on this CD that we don't all love!
It's our favorite to listen to while we decorating the tree.
(It must've been ol') Santa Claus
The little drummer boy
Parade of the wooden soldiers

F
avorite holiday tradition: Christmas eve we do the white elephant
gift game and with the kids all older they all participate now too.
We roll dice to get a gift and once all the gifts are passed out then we
set a timer and if you get a 2 or 6 you can steal from someone.
This goes on until timer goes off. Once the timer goes off
you get the gifts left in front of you and if they can be worn,
you put them on. Its always the most fun with the most laughs

Least favorite part about the holiday:
traveling or knowing my family is traveling in bad weather

Five items on your Wish List this year:
ugg boots, new camera, blackberry touch

One of my favorite childhood memories
when I got my barbie airplane.
I don't know why that memory stands out above
the rest? Maybe it was because I really didn't think
I was going to get it, so it was that ultimate
surprise at Christmas.
I still remember that "new" plastic smell?

Favorite holiday project: My December journal. I love keeping track of all the little details that make up the holidays throughout the month of December.

This year's Christmas card photo shoot of my two kids and my nephews

Those cookies are MY favorite AND you are the first person I've ever known to reference that recipe by its correct name! Not sandtarts, teacakes, mexican wedding, etc. Are you from the NE by any chance?

Love Harry, those cookies sound delish, I don't think I've ever watched ELF... and I love your Christmas Journal with that yummy paper :-)

Love Harry too. My favorite is when he sings Ava Maria. Brings tears to my eyes early in the season.

I would LOVE more info on how you do the Christmas journal. What you include and recordkeeping format that works for you.

Tina, you KNOW Harry's on MY list of favorites. One of my colleagues gave me a hard time the other day because I had all three of his X-mas CDs at work. Then he promptly asked to borrow them! hahaha! It's a very HARRY Christmas!
