A few weeks ago, I painted our daughter Jami's bedroom. It ended up being a transformation of the joint, and it was a blast.

With approval from our daughter, here is a peek at her bedroom. :)
This is a photo of her collage wall. The rest of the room is less busy, I promise. We saved it all for this wall! We embellished her quilt (purchased from Target) with buttons, fun stitches and pom poms. Owl pillow was a gift from Target. We have since made 2 new pillows, and I will blog about those soon...
Paper flowers were made using double sided papers, cut into strips and attached at the center. I LOVE how these turned out. I am working on two more to go up there still...
The white memo board on the right is from Creative Memories. I simply backed it with patterned paper, using magnets. It can be easily switched out if she gets bored with it, and we both love that!
The little purple shelf on the left used to be white. She won and painted it purple--and we both like how it worked! She has little candies in a jar on that shelf, for when friends stop by.
Go figure--a shadow box!! You'll be seeing more of these to come...I've been creating like crazy with these things! In this one, we wanted to showcase one of her favorite things--the beach. We included a few photos, shells and mementos from a recent trip. Took advantage of pop art editing using a single photo--we love how it turned out!
Paint color is Robin's Egg Blue--but it looks different depending on lighting in some of these pics.
Found these fun frames at Marshall's. Found a new one today that will fill in that "hole" area at an antique store...
This is that same MS wrapping paper decoupaged on her dresser. A work in progress. Will post pics of the finished project soon... *I don't know if I'll do a tuitorial on the dresser, but I can surely post pics when it is complete. I just decoupaged it using mod podge--it is that simple. With luck it will be finished this weekend...

I'd love to see her dresser, perhaps a tutorial? (You did take photos, didn't you?)I've got a beautiful, but boring dresser in my son's room that I'd love to tackle. Great job on the room mom- I bet she loves it!
Again, can you adopt me??? I love this!!!! Jami needs a sister!
Perfect colors!!!
Fabulous! I wish I could go back in time and you could be my mom! Lucky girl!
How big is the room?
Wowzers! This is gorgeous! You have inspired me to help my DD with her room. Thanks :)
Gorgeous! Even though I'm sure it was a big of tugging, pulling, and stretching - it looks beautiful and sounds like all involved are big fans. What a great way to involve her in the lesson of homemade goodies, working with what's at hand, and letting creativity open worlds of possibilities!
I have a tween room and a 9-yr-old room to do this fall. Thanks for the great ideas. Totally forgot about just using scrapbook paper in a frame for color. Silly me! LOVE the purple shelf too - as well as Jami's plan to keep candy on hand for friends. How "sweet".
It is beautiful, fun, inviting and totally girlie... I love that it's not PINK... You are one amazing MAMA...
xoxo,
Ady
No need to adopt me if you are adopting Laina, but I would like to have you as my interior decorate, that is for sure sure sure.
