I have been so inspired by Jaime's mini-albums lately. I thought I would share one that I did over two years ago for CHA winter 2009 for Graphic 45. I made it in a day and shipped it off to the show and never had a chance to photograph it myself until this weekend. :)
The writing motifs of the Communique line by Graphic 45 reminded me of Dove's "real women, real beauty" campaign. So I decided to write some short notes to my children on what I think real beauty is. And this album is thus born...
This project is published in Scrapbooking and Beyond Fall 2010 issue.
Here you can see a few inner pages. I kept this project extremely simple, focusing on the patterned papers, the b/w photos and the most important part: the journaling. As women, we are always under pressure to be beautiful one way or another. It is not an easy message to digest and understand but I hope by repetition, my children will grasp the meaning of true beauty, inside and out.
